Slad logo Slad

Slad is guest activation infrastructure for high performing restaurants. It converts real guest presence into structured, measurable local demand signals.

Slad sits inside your existing service as an in venue activation layer. While guests enjoy the food and atmosphere, Slad quietly identifies the right guests and invites them to share and tag their visit in a way that fits your brand, reinforces strong reviews, and helps stabilize slower windows.

Guests are already taking photos and posting. Slad does not create new behavior. It structures it. On average, one activated guest generates hundreds of local views inside their own circle. Done consistently, that compounds into hundreds of thousands of high trust local impressions per month and a meaningful lift in revenue during softer periods, without turning you into an ad buyer or adding work to your team.

Slad Smart Table guest activation interface

Book a 10-Minute Pilot Walkthrough

See exactly how Slad would run on your floor, how Smart Tables fit your layout, and what kind of incremental demand you can expect from real guest activation.

In 10 minutes, we will:

  • Map your typical service pattern (covers per day, slower windows, table types).
  • Recommend a Smart Table coverage plan (how many tags, where, and why).
  • Plug your numbers into the ROI model so you see a realistic Low / Base / High lift from verified guest posts.

Best fit for this pilot cohort:

Independent or chef-driven restaurants, lounges, and rooftops that care about brand, reviews, and consistent demand (especially in Atlanta and similar metros).

No long decks. No pressure. If it’s not a fit after the walkthrough, you’ll still leave with a clear framework for structuring guest posting and measuring word-of-mouth.

Turn Physical Traffic into Structured Local Demand

Activate Smart Tables

Stop wasting real estate. Turn every passive seat into an active demand node. With one tap, your tables invite guests to capture the moment and share it in a way that fits your brand.

Set Posting Rules

You control the narrative. Choose platforms, angles, and tags. Prefer Stories over Reels or want to push a new dish? Update your posting rules in seconds across the entire venue — no reprinting signs.

Zero Extra Staff Load

Guests won’t post if it’s complicated. Slad removes the “search and tag” friction. One tap opens the exact posting guide they need. Your team stays focused on hospitality while the system runs quietly in the background.

Measure Local Demand

Stop guessing what works. See how many guests activated, how many local views they generated, and which days or windows get the biggest lift. Tie real-world covers back to structured, trackable signals.

Estimate Your Monthly Lift with Slad Smart Tables

Plug in your venue numbers. We use platform benchmarks + research to estimate a Low / Base / High monthly lift from guest activation.

Defaults are directional. Real numbers are calibrated against your POS after a 2–4 week pilot. See sources.

How this is calculated (full model)

Uses your inputs + defaults (R/A/I/C, Story Wall, Social multiplier, Repeat/LTV, and month-based participation ramp).

1) Effective participation (month-based ramp)

We start from your Month 0 participation (p0) and ramp it toward a ceiling (pMax) using a half-life model:

p(t) = pMax − (pMax − p0) × exp(−ln(2) × t / halfLife)

The calculator uses p(t) at your selected “Months using Slad”.

2) Posts / month (verified submissions)

First, base posts:

dinersMonth = dinersPerDay × 30 basePosts = dinersMonth × participation

Then we apply within-table “infection” and Story Wall:

infectionMult = 1 + (partySize − 1) × socialMultiplier wallMult = storyWallEnabled ? 1.15 : 1.00 posts = basePosts × infectionMult × wallMult

3) Views / month (story reach estimate)

We estimate story views from average followers × story reach rate:

viewsPerPost = avgFollowers × R views = posts × viewsPerPost

R is the “Story reach rate” slider (default 6.5%).

4) New visits / month (UGC funnel)

Views turn into actions, then intent, then visits:

actions = views × A intent = actions × I visits = intent × C

A = action rate, I = intent rate, C = 30-day conversion.

5) Revenue impact (baseline, extra, with Slad, lift%)

Baseline monthly revenue is just diners × avg spend × 30:

baselineRevenue = dinersPerDay × avgSpend × 30

Incremental revenue comes from new visits × avg spend, then we apply repeat/LTV:

incrementalRevenueRaw = visits × avgSpend incrementalRevenue = incrementalRevenueRaw × repeatMultiplier

Finally:

withSladRevenue = baselineRevenue + incrementalRevenue liftPct = (incrementalRevenue / baselineRevenue) × 100

The “Extra revenue” number shown is additional revenue (not Slad’s price). Breakdown: per day = incrementalRevenue/30, per year = incrementalRevenue×12.

Directional estimate. You’ll get a tight number after a short pilot with tracking.

Sources & notes (why these defaults are reasonable)

Story reach rate (R): Based on Rival IQ’s Instagram Stories benchmark medians (reach as a % of followers). View report →

Restaurant social-proof sensitivity: Michael Luca (HBS) estimates a +1 Yelp star is associated with ~5–9% higher revenue for independent restaurants. Read paper →

In-venue assumption: The model assumes posts are created by real guests during or shortly after an actual visit, not by remote accounts. Smart Tables and verification rules are designed to bias strongly toward in-venue activity.

Note: Defaults are directional planning values. Best tightened via pilot measurements.

“We used to spend thousands on ads that nobody trusted. With Slad, our own guests are filling the room for us. It feels less like marketing and more like installing a demand system on the tables we already have.”

“The best part is the control. I can adjust the Posting Rule for brunch versus dinner in seconds without changing anything on the floor. It feels like adding a new piece of infrastructure, not another task for my team.”

“I usually hate when venues ask me to tag them. But Slad made it frictionless. I tapped the table, saw the brief, and posted. It genuinely felt like part of the VIP experience, not work.”

Turn tables into traffic in 3 Simple Steps

No complex integrations. No staff retraining. Slad runs quietly while your team focuses on service.

  1. 1

    Activate Your Tables

    Place Slad NFC tags on your tables. In the app, link them to your venue and set your "Posting Rules" (for example, “Post a Story, tag us, show the dish”).

    ⏱️ Setup time: about 5 minutes
  2. 2

    Guests Tap & Post

    When guests sit down, they tap the table with their phone. Your specific posting instructions pop up instantly. Zero friction = higher participation.

    📲 Works on iPhone & Android
  3. 3

    You See Verified Demand

    Slad checks that each post matches your rules before it’s counted. You see structured signals — how many guests activated, estimated local views, and which windows are driving the most new visits.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the Pilot Program.

Is Slad an agency or a social media service?

No. Slad is guest activation infrastructure. We do not log into your accounts, create content for you, or run ads. Instead, Slad gives you a structured in-venue system that turns real guests and real visits into consistent, measurable posts, tags, and impressions that compound over time.

Is this better than running Instagram ads?

In most cases, yes. Ads can create awareness, but most people scroll past them. Slad focuses on structured word of mouth: real guests posting to their real friends while they are still in the venue. Research shows people are significantly more likely to trust and act on recommendations from friends and family than on paid ads, so Slad works best as the infrastructure that turns your existing foot traffic into those high trust signals.

What if a guest posts "bad" content?

You are in control. You set the "Posting Rules" (for example: must tag the venue, must show food or drinks, no bad lighting, no off brand language). Slad adds a verification layer on top. If a post does not meet your standards, it is not marked as verified and does not count toward your campaign metrics. You never pay for off brand content.

Do I need to train my staff to manage this?

Minimal training. The NFC tags on the table do almost all of the work. Guests tap, see your branded prompt on their own phone, and post. We give your team a simple one sentence script so they can mention it naturally at the table if you choose, but your servers stay focused on hospitality while Slad handles the guest activation system in the background.

Which platforms does Slad support?

We support the big three for dining and nightlife: Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat. You can switch your campaign focus instantly. For example, push TikTok videos on Friday night and Instagram Stories on Sunday brunch, without reprinting anything.

Do guests actually use it?

Yes, because we removed the friction. Guests are already taking photos and posting. Slad just structures that behavior. They do not have to search for your handle or guess your hashtag. One tap gives them the exact "cheat sheet" to post in a way that fits your brand. When you make it easy and clear, participation jumps.

How long does it take to set up?

About 10 minutes. You stick the discrete Slad NFC tags on your tables, create your venue profile, and set your first "Posting Rule". We walk you through your first campaign so you can be live and generating content before dinner service starts.

How Slad fits into your restaurant’s operating model

Slad is not an ad campaign or a social media trick. It is a light, in-venue system that turns your existing guests into structured, measurable local demand signals.

1 Before Slad

  • Guests take photos and post occasionally, but it is random and hard to measure.
  • A few loud reviews (good or bad) can shape perception more than the actual experience.
  • Slow windows and early-week services are harder to influence in a targeted way.
  • Your team is focused on service, not chasing hashtags, handles, or content rules.
  • Marketing feels like a mix of ads, posts, and agencies that are hard to tie back to covers.

2 With Slad in place

  • NFC / QR “Smart Tables” invite the right guests to share their visit using your exact handle, tags, and posting rules.
  • Content is structured: every verified post reinforces your brand, highlights your best dishes, and points attention to the locations and windows that matter most.
  • Each activated guest generates hundreds of local views inside their close circle, behaving like high-trust word of mouth instead of traditional ads.
  • You see measurable signals: number of posts, estimated local impressions, and which days and time slots are getting lifted.
  • Your team keeps their attention on hospitality while Slad quietly compounds your digital presence in the background.
